CTG Europe acquires solar assets package Daylight in Spain

China Three Gorges Europe (CTG Europe) has acquired a portfolio of 572MW of solar assets distributed in 13 photovoltaic plants constructed between 2019 and 2020 across Spain from Madrid-based developer X-Elio. The transaction announced is completed on Jan. 20, 2021.

This agreement represents a historic transaction for CTG, as photovoltaic energy is a strategic pillar of the business and represents the company"s first direct investment in Spain, the largest European solar market. And the move has strategic value for CTG Europe, as it will boost its investments in Europe, based on its existing assets in Portugal (21% of EDP), Germany, the UK and Greece, etc..

The transaction has also divested the assert portfolio of CTG in its overseas market and injected confidence to other Chinese companies to invest in the European energy market.
