On World Environment Day, a significant event unfolded at the Karot Hydropower Project, as Asia-Africa Green Energy Investment Limited (CTG Asia-Africa), in collaboration with IUCN Pakistan, joined forces to mark the occasion. The celebration, aimed at promoting environmental conservation, featured an impactful awareness walk and a large-scale plantation drive, attracting enthusiastic participation from project employees, students from local schools, and community members.
During the awareness walk, participants passionately echoed the global campaign “Beat Plastic Pollution,” demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental protection fostered by the community.
Every year, Karot Hydropower Project removes 100 + tons of plastic waste from the Jhelum River, ensuring its proper disposal. This ongoing effort helps keep the river clean and supports a healthier ecosystem for local aquatic species.
CTG Asia-Africa's initiatives at the Karot Hydropower Project represent a significant step towards driving local and national change in Pakistan. By raising public awareness and actively reducing plastic waste, the company is setting a remarkable example. It remains steadfast in championing eco-conscious values, with the ultimate goal of building a cleaner, greener future for everyone.
